The fine folks over at Nintendo have recently revealed what the 3DS XL Circle Pad Pro extension will look like at the recent Tokyo Game Show, and boy, does it look hefty. If you’ve had the chance to take a stab at the original 3DS’s Pad Pro, you would have noticed that while playing games became easier, the console itself became a chore to carry around. I’d hesitate to lug around a 3DS with a Circle Pad Pro, but a 3DS XL with the peripheral? Forget it.
What about the Wii U?
And in other news, the Wii U will be region locked. It’s official. This will no doubt come as no surprise seeing as how the 3DS, Wii, and the Gamecube were region-locked themselves. Nevertheless, it seems to be an odd decision on Nintendo’s part given that its competitors, like Sony and Microsoft, don’t necessarily restrict each game to a particular region.
