PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360′s fighting game, Dead or Alive 5, was streamed at this years E3 2012 conference by Tecmo KOEI Europe. The video features different battle arenas with Virtua Fighter franchise character Sarah Bryant joining with the character Akira.
It is the first game in the series to see a multi-platform release since Dead or Alive 2, and the only one to be released simultaneously on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well as the first in the series to be released for the Xbox 360 since Dead or Alive Xtreme 2.
The gameplay is based on a rock-paper-scissor like interruption system, in which normal attacks beat throws, throws beat holds, and holds beat strikes. The battles take place in an interactive and destructive arenas, where a new featured was introduced as “Power Blow.” This enables the players to knock the opponent away in a selected direction such as cliffs or into the series signature “Danger Zones.” Each knock back will initiate a cinematic quick time event.
The game is currently in production by Team Ninja and KOEI Tecmo and will be released in North America on September 25 and Europe on September 28.
