BEN-TO, a new anime series to be adapted from the original light novel has been announced for release this coming Fall season. The official website of the light novel series released a video trailer of the anime first promotional video, which can be viewed below also.

The light novel is originally a high school comedy action story written by Asaura. The story revolves around a poor high school student named Yo Sato. Sato goes to the supermarket one day and discovers a bento (boxed meal) on sale at half price. Just as he reaches to grab it, he ends up on the floor unconscious. Sato has just entered the fierce, no-holds-barred “supermarket survival battle” for half-price bento.
